Short posts I’m reading
The Harvard Business Review has a short blog post from 2018 on organisational change - The secret to leading organisational change is empathy. Well worth a read if you’re involved in change.
Short read from Digby Scott: Busy Does Not Equal Valuable - about how we start the year full of energy and but end up feeling wiped out - so what’s going to change this year? It’s a good reminder that being busy doesn’t equate to valuable.
And if you haven’t read yesterday’s Finance Friday yet, here’s a link to that.
Longer reads
What are the Top CFO skills for 2024? CFO’s and a recruiter share their views on what are the top skills that CFOs need to have or develop this year.
Videos worth a watch

I read about empathy mapping the other day - which is a tool that is used in design thinking for understanding what customers want in products. This tool can just as easily be used for Finance teams in addressing your stakeholder needs. Here’s a video (4.51m) on how to create an empathy map.
