Here’s my weekly roundup.

It’s a short list of what I’ve been reading, listening to, watching or thinking about over the last week.
Feel free to share with the link below:
Short posts I’m reading
x1000 (1 min) Seth Godin with a useful frame to think about whether you should worry about something or not.
And if you haven’t read yesterday’s Finance Friday yet, here’s a link to that.
Longer reads
Commit to Competence In the Coming Year (6 mins) - David Heinemeier Hansson (founder of 37 Signals) argues the case for getting better at what you do - and spending healthy chunks of the day in deliberate practice and improvement.
Podcasts worth a listen
I listen to a lot of podcasts each week whilst walking my two dogs. These two I thought were particularly useful this week:
New Year, New Me - Atomic Habits You’ll Actually Stick To - Erika Kullberg, host of Erika Taught Me interviews Atomic Habits Author James Clear on making habits stick. (Also my book recommendation - see below)
Master the Skill of Sleep With Mollie Eastman - Chris Hutchins host of All The Hacks, interviews Mollie about the importance of sleep, using trackers and tips on getting a better night’s sleep, with more research emphasising the importance of sleep, well worth a listen.
Books worth reading
“In my whole life, I have known no wise people (over a broad subject matter area) who didn't read all the time—none.” - Charlie Munger
Following on from the Erika Taught Me interview with James Clear, with a New Year and many starting New Year’s resolutions or goals, James’ book, Atomic Habits is well worth adding to your reading pile. Full of strategies to improve your daily habits and increase your chance of success when adopting a new habit.
